What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the website operator.

Some cookies are deleted from your hard drive when your browser session ends (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and allow us to recognise your computer on your next visit (persistent cookies).

Cookies we use

Authentication cookies — set by our authentication provider, Supabase, to keep you securely logged in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. They are cleared when you sign out or your session expires.

maelo-cookie-consent — a persistent cookie that stores your acknowledgement of this cookie notice so we do not show it on every visit.

All cookies listed above are strictly necessary for the website to function securely. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

Purpose of data collection

Maelo is a tech pack generator for fashion brands and designers. We collect and use data you provide solely to fulfil and operate the service you signed up for.

We do not pass personal customer data to third parties. Exceptions apply only to service partners where data transmission is required for the fulfilment of the contract — in those cases the scope of data shared is limited to the necessary minimum.

We store your account data and project data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

No third-party advertising

Maelo does not share personal customer data with third parties for advertising or market research purposes.

If you subscribe to product updates or a newsletter, we use the data you provided at registration solely for sending those communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We do not embed Facebook social plugins, YouTube iframes, or other third-party tracking elements that would allow those providers to collect data about your visit.

Security

All data transmission between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security). You can verify this by the padlock icon in your browser's address bar.

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (12 rounds) and are never stored or transmitted in plain text.

We store all personal data and project data in EU data centres. Data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.

Your rights

You have the right to request a free written disclosure of the personal data we hold about you.

You have the right to correction, restriction, or deletion of your data. Most profile data can be updated directly in your account settings.

You have the right to data portability — a machine-readable export of your project data can be requested at any time.

You have the right to object to processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) if you believe your data is being processed unlawfully.
